Betty J. Keirns

Betty J. Keirns, age 95 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 11, 2021 at her home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. On February 26, 1926, she was born to the late Emerson F. and Alice M. (Dehaven) Smith in Marion.

Betty was a lifelong homemaker, and she was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. She was a sweet woman who cared deeply for others, and she would be the first person to comfort you but also the first person to keep it real, speaking the truth where she saw it. She enjoyed collecting pictures of her beloved family, as well as listening to her vinyl records and watching old black and white shows on TV. Betty was the type of woman that if you met her, you would never forget her. She was truly one of a kind.

She is survived by her daughter Deb (Larry) Hughes; her son James Armbruster; her grandchildren Shawn Nemeth, Christie Hughes, Michelle Armbruster, Ronnie Armbruster, and Tammy Armbruster; her great-grandchildren Hayden, Ruby, Drex, Devon, and Kaitlyn; and her daughters-in-law Patty and Shana.

She was preceded in death by her parents Emerson and Alice, her sons Steven and Richard Armbruster, and her brother Richard Smith.

Family and friends may gather to celebrate Betty’s beautiful life on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home.
