George L. "Budd" Tidd

George L. “Bud” Tidd, 86, of Marion went to be with the Lord on Thursday January 20, 2022.

George was a man of great faith and active member of My Community Church (TV39). On September 23, 1935, George was born to the late Claude L and Flora Belle (Kutz) Tidd in Marion. George was a graduate of the Marion Harding High School and a Korean war time veteran in the Army.

 George loved his family and enjoyed working at the Fast Parts auto store with his longtime friend Greg Hughes. George retired from Whirlpool with 40 years of service, he often joked that he was the 2nd person to go to work at the Marion location.

George was preceded in death by wife Geneva (McKenzie) Tidd, sister Pauline Geer and brother Claude L. Tidd Jr.

George is survived by sons Brent (Renee) Tidd and Bruce Tidd, brother Jack (Ruth) Tidd, sister Linda (Jerry) Hooper, mother of his children Diane Tidd, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family of George L. Tidd want to thank the hospital staff of Riverside Hospital for taking care of Bud in his time of need.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the Boyd Funeral Home in Marion. Funeral service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Brent Layne officiating. Immediately after the service the entombment will take place at the Marion cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the My Community Church of Marion. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of George Tidd in their time of need.
