Phyllis L. White Kiggans

     Phyllis L. White Kiggans was called home January 3, 2022 at Select Speciality Hospital in Columbus, following a two month illness. She was born August 21, 1956 to J. Harmon and Zola (Carothers) White in Marion, Ohio. She was the youngest of six children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Faye VanGorden, nephew, Justin Clark, and brother-in-law, Rev. Richard VanGorden.

     Phyllis graduated from Ridgedale High School in 1974. She started her banking career at the Harpster Bank that same year. She also worked at Stumbo Construction Company in various positions. She also worked at the YMCA. She then worked at Bank One, now Chase Bank, where she retired from in August 2021.

     She married the love of her life, Ken N. Kiggans on September 4, 1983 and he survives in Marion.

     She is also survived her brother, Leonard (Bonnie) White. Her sisters, Carol VanGorden, DeLee (David) Spriggs, and Robyn White. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cat, Zoe, her baby who she loved so very much.

     There will be no calling hours per her request. A graveside service will be held in the Price Cemetery on Wednesday, February 2, 2022,, at 2:00 PM. Rev. Matthew VanGorden will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to the Marion Area Humane Society because of her love for animals. Also requested donations may be made to the Marion County Cancer Association or to Marion County Meals on Wheels.
