Alberta M. Cleveland

Alberta Mae “Bertie” Cleveland, age 93 of Marion, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Marion Manor Nursing Home. On August 26, 1928, she was born in Marion to the late Lola Mae (Johnson) and Lafayette Holycross, and on November 1, 1953, she married her husband Richard Leroy Cleveland, Sr. He preceded her in death in 2006.

She has two children: a daughter, Sharon L. (RD) Paxton of Morral, and a son, Richard L. Cleveland, Jr., of Peru. She leaves 1 brother, Cliff Holycross, and 1 sister, Shirley Ann Holycross, both of Marion, as well as 1 grandson, Troy L. Baker of Marion, 3 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
