Allan Leroy Burns

Allan L. Burns, age 69, of Marion; passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Marion General Hospital. The family would like to thank the many hospital staff members that have taken care of him throughout the years.

Allan was born on October 12, 2021, to the late Robert E. Burns and Juanita Watts in Marion, OH. He would later marry the love of his life, Darlene Burns. Allan and Darlene were joined in marriage in Big Island, OH in 1974.

Allan had many passions and interests. He was a computer technician for 15 years for his own company, Fantastic Bits and Bytes. As a nature enthusiast, he often enjoyed spending his time gardening, bird watching, and fishing. Allan shared his love of bird watching with his cat, Sora, his loyal and loved fur baby. Music was a big part of Allan’s life and he often listened to the Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Jimi Hendrix and many other classic rock artists. In his youth, Allan was in a band and enjoyed playing with his lifelong friend Willie Phoenix.

Allan is preceded in death by both his parents, his brothers Herman and David Burns, and his niece Shannon Burns.

Allan is survived by his wife Darlene and his daughters; April Burns and her partner Charles Bartley, Tiffany and her husband Mark Olmstead, Allison Burns, and Julia and her husband Mike Morse. Allen is also survived by his brother Robert and Robert’s wife Jeanie Burns and Allan’s sister Mary and her husband Mike McGrady. Allan is survived by his nephews Chris and Chris’s wife Brandi Burns, Eben Curl, and Benjamin Burns. His nieces Stephanie Burns, Sarah Erb, and Hannah Bender. His great-nieces and nephews are Alexis, Zane, Cali, Anthony, Autumn, Brianna, Sierra, Caden, and Emberliegh.

In lieu of a traditional service, the Burns family is holding a celebration of life for Allan on November 7th, 2021, 2-6 pm at the Women's Club House at 1126 E. Center St. Marion, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses may be sent to Boyd's funeral home in Marion, Ohio.
