Angela Gaye (Lore) Apthorp

Angela “Angi” Gaye (Lore) Apthorp, age 61, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on March 20 th, 2025. She fought a courageous battle for years with kidney disease before being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was born on October 29, 1963, in Marion, Ohio. She was the daughter of Richard Allen Lore and Mary Sonia Dutton (Slane) of Marion, Ohio. She married the love of her life, Daniel Ray Apthorp, on January 23, 1982. They spent 43 wonderful years of marriage together. Angela enjoyed fishing, camping, and scratching lottery tickets. She was the happiest surrounded by her grandchildren, children, and husband.

Angi is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Dutton and Richard Lore, and her son, Joshua Apthorp.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Apthorp of Marion, her 3 children, Joseph Apthorp of Tiffin, Jessica (Shaun) Adkins of Caledonia, and Richard (Sarah) Apthorp of Screven, Georgia, her 5 grandchildren, Seth (Dorothy) Apthorp of Marion, Sierra Apthorp of Marion, Quinton Adkins of Caledonia, Maddisyn Adkins of Caledonia, Declan Apthorp of Screven, Geogia, her 2 sisters, Sabrina (Lore) Cranmer, Cyndie (Mark) Jackson, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Boyd Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 4 to 6 pm. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers to celebrate Angela's life. Boyd Funeral Home is honored to care for the Apthorp family in their time of need.
