Anthony "Gene" E. Edington

Anthony “Gene” E. Edington, age 91 of Marion, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Marion General Hospital.

Gene was born on January 25, 1932 to the late James and Lucille (Bonser) Edington in Marion, Ohio.

In his early years, Gene loved playing golf. He was employed by Marion General Hospital for over 20 years and was proud of his work with Habitat for Humanity. As a member of Lee St Presbyterian Church, he was able to be involved in a missionary trip to Costa Rica. Gene was an ornery hardworking man and will be missed by family and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his seven brother and one sister.

Those who will cherish Gene’s memories include his children: George (Laura) Edington, Tony Edington, and Sheryl (James) Bushatz; his seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Friends and family may come to honor Gene’s life from 11am to 12pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Boyd Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow starting at 12pm at the funeral home.  A burial will follow the service at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.  Donations may be given in Gene’s memory to the Lee Street Presbyterian Church, 455 Lee Street, Marion, Ohio 43302.
