Arthur Eugene Taylor, 80, of Marion, OH, passed away on December 29, 2024, in the comfort of his stepdaughter’s house in Marion. On August 7, 1944, he was born to his late parents Forest Earl Taylor and Bessie Eileen Richardson in Ironton, OH. He would find Shirley Ervin later on in life and stay married with her for 40 plus years before she left his side in 2016.
Artur started his work career at the Big Bear grocery store. He later went on to work at Tecumseh for a few years before finding a job at Wyandotte as a forklift driver for 27 years, before retiring. He was a God-fearing man and got saved and attended church at the True Life Church. When he wasn’t working or at church he could be found at the American Legion. He was known for being an expert euchre player and enjoyed playing dominos as well.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers; George and Samuel Taylor, his sister; Alice Walter, and his stepson; Mark Ervin (2022).
He is memories are carried on by his stepdaughters; Karen Birdsong and Carolyn Ervin, his sister; Verla Myers, his grandchildren; Skyla and Hayley Ervin, Joshua Birdsong, Kenneth and Ryan Coykendall, Jamie Dugan, and Ashley Robison, his best friend; Roger (Lisa), and Amanda, family, and best friends, along with many nieces and nephews.
The Taylor family would like to invite Arthur’s family and friends to join them for calling hours from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be a funeral service at 12 p.m. after calling hours. There will also be an interment service immediately following at the Marion Cemetery. The family asks for all donations to be made out to the ASPCA Animal Rescue on behalf of Arthur.
