Barbara Marie Douglas

Barbara Marie Douglas, 72, of Marion, OH, passed away under the comforting and professional care of the Capital City Hospice at her own home. Barbara was born on February 27, 1953, in West Virginia, to her late parents, Clyde Broughton and Lula Williams. She married her husband, Paul Douglas, of 48 years on January 16, 1967, in Richwood, OH. They would be with each other through the good and bad times, until Paul’s passing in 2015. Barbara was a homemaker for her entire life, and she lived her life for her family. She was known to be a free spirit, going with the flow and being open and honest to everyone she knew. In her free time, she loved to be outside fishing or hunting. When she was inside, she loved to play cards, specifically, poker and euchre.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her oldest son, John Douglas, and her daughter, Patty Blevins.

She is survived by her son, Paul (Dawn) Douglas, II, her daughters, Tami Pickens and Paula (Steve) Douglas, several brothers and one sister, 13 grandchildren, several great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way.

The Douglas family invites all of her loved ones and friends to join them to honor her life at the Boyd Funeral Home, on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a funeral service starting at 1:30 p.m. and then processing out the Grand Prairie Cemetery immediately after, where there will be an interment service. Man of God Nicholas Marquis will be officiating all services. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Capital City Hospice for their care of Barbara.
