Barbara Jean (Lutz) Smith

Barbara Jean Smith (Lutz), age 73, of Marion, passed away at the Marion Post Acute nursing facility on December 15, 2025. Barbara was born to the late Mary M Lutz in Marion, on November 19, 1952. Barbara graduated from Harding High School and Married Michael Smith Sr. on December 4th, 1971, and the two were married until his passing October 20th, 1995. Barbara would work for TODCO Overhead Door for over 30 years before retiring.

To Barbara her family was her life. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her kids, grandkids and her mastiff “Bella” until her passing in September 2023. Barbara loved taking pictures, enjoyed doing different crafts and word find and puzzle books. Barbara had a huge heart and was always helping others.

Left to cherish the memory of Barbara are Son, Michael (Kim, PID) Smith, daughter, Melissa (Dave) Large, grandchildren, Mackenzie, Katlyn, Matthew and Significant Other Fritz Schneider.

The visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Boyd Funeral Home from 11am until 12pm. The Funeral Service for Barbara with start at 12pm with Pastor Joe Officiating. The committal service will take place at the LaRue Cemetery immediately following the funeral procession.
