Barbara Roseberry Obituary

Barbara Anne Roseberry, age 91, of Marion passed away on Labor Day, September 1, 2025. Barbara was born in Galion, Ohio on April 7, 1934 to the late George and Lillian (Baylor) Sautter. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Edgar Roseberry; sister, Charlet Grooms; and grandson Matthew Roseberry.

     Barbara graduated from Iberia High School in 1952. There, she was a member of the Iberia cheerleading, softball, and basketball teams and served as the Senior Class President. She attended Ashland College to study medical sciences and it was here that she met Ed Roseberry. They were married on October 24, 1954 at Peace Lutheran Church, Galion, Ohio. Together, Ed and Barbara lovingly raised one son and two daughters, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. 

      In addition to supporting her husband’s teaching and coaching activities and moving households 14 times, Barbara was a career medical technologist, primarily serving at the F. C. Smith Clinic in Marion, Ohio. Outside of work and throughout her life, she was an accomplished quilter and seamstress. Barbara was a faithful member of the Timothy Lutheran Church in Marion, Ohio where she enjoyed a strong fellowship and devotion with God. 

    For 28 years, Barbara and Ed were Snowbirds to Imperial Harbor located in Bonita Springs, FL. Barbara was the clubhouse water aerobics instructor and a member of the shuffleboard league, winning numerous trophies. She cherished the many deep and long-lasting friendships fostered there. 

    For 6 years, Barbara and Ed resided at Kingston Residence in Marion, Ohio. There, Barbara enjoyed the music programs, was an active participant in crafting activities, and was a strategic Euchre player. She enjoyed being a member of the Kingston Family. Barbara’s family extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Kingston Residence for their patient and loving care.

     Barbara was happiest when spending time with family, especially hosting for them for holidays and visits to Florida. She is survived by three children , Gary (Jacky) Roseberry of Galion, OH, LeAnn Jones of Marion, OH and Jane (Terry Pearl) Roseberry of Marengo, OH; grandchildren, Abbi, Katalina, Annalee, & Andy; great grandchildren, Emma, Madden, Knox, Mila, A.J., Celia, Gaby, Harper, Leighton, and Oakleigh; step grandchildren, Lori, Susie, Bill, Katy, and Amy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Katherine Sautter of Lexington, Ky., Larry and Barbara Sautter of Middletown, N.Y., and Greg and Diane Sautter of Wooster; brother-in-law David Grooms; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

     A memorial service for Barbara followed by the burial of Ed and her will be held at Iberia Cemetery in Iberia, OH on their wedding anniversary Friday, October 24 at 2:00 PM.
