Barbara Wollett Obituary

Barbara Jo Wollett, age 74, of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026 after a lengthy and courageous battle with complications following surgery. She was born on December 16, 1951, to the late Jack H. and Norma (Wright) Davis.

On April 8, 1972, Barb married the love of her life, John R. Wollett. Together they built a life filled with love and raised two wonderful sons, J.J. and Matt. The center of Barb’s world was her family, especially her grandchildren, Brooke, Jamisyn, Makenzie, and Cayden. She never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, celebrate their accomplishments, and remind them how proud she was of them. She was very excited for the arrival of her first great-granddaughter.

A devoted wife, mother, and "Mommom," Barb was a constant source of love, support, and encouragement to those she loved. She had a kind heart, a strong spirit, and a sense of humor that remained with her through every stage of life.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially watching the birds in her backyard, with cardinals holding a special place in her heart. She also adored her pets, particularly her beloved big black cat, Boo.

Barb dedicated many years of service to GTE, Frontier, and Verizon before retiring.

She is survived by her sons, J.J. (Brenda) Wollett and Matt (Linda) Wollett; her grandchildren, Brooke Wollett, Jamisyn Wollett, Makenzie (Gavin) Howell and Cayden Wollett; her sisters, Becky Hughes, Mary Grose, Jackie Ward, and Jan McBride; her brother, Joe (Alba) Davis; her sister-in-law, Sue Wollett; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John R. Wollett; her brothers-in-law, Rick Hughes, Lynn Grose, and Bob Wollett; her parents, Jack H. Davis and Norma Davis; and her sister, Chris Osborne.

Barb fought hard until the very end, and her family could not be more proud of her strength and determination. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, and love that will continue to live on in those who knew her best. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

The family will observe a private burial at a later date.

In honor of Barb’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Marion Area Humane Society.
