Barbara "Barbie" Lee Wilson

Barbara Lee Wilson, affectionately known as Barbie, age 62 of Marion, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Marion General Hospital following an unexpected, brief illness.

Barbie was born on October 12, 1958, to Kenneth and Loretta (Hurst) Bartter in Columbus, Ohio.  On April 7, 1979, she married her best friend and forever companion, Ronnie Wilson in Marion, Ohio.

Barbie was a devoted wife, loving mother, true friend, and found utmost joy in being Yia-Yia to Adalee and Miles. Barbie was a cherished part of the Northgate Church family and was a school bus driver for Ridgedale School District for many years. Barbie was known for her beautiful smile, generous hugs, infectious laugh, encouragement, and treasuring quality time with family and friends. Barbie will truly be missed in this life but we take comfort in the fact that she is now ever joyful in the presence of Jesus.

Barbie was preceded in death by her father: Kenneth Bartter; her father-in-law: George Wilson; and her mother-in-law: Ruth Wilson.

Among those who will cherish her memories include her loving husband of 42 years: Pastor Ronnie Wilson of Marion, Ohio; her beloved daughters and families: Becky (Chad) Dible and his children Leah and Landry Dible of Prospect, Ohio and Cindy (Ben) Anderson and their children Adalee and Miles of Marion, Ohio; her mother: Loretta Bartter of Marion, Ohio; her sisters: Sherry (Jack) Higgins of Marion, Ohio, Kathy (Mac) Meginness of Marion, Ohio; and Carolyn (Alan) Green of Marion, Ohio; and sister-in-law: Connie (Joe) Caldwell of Marion, Ohio; as well as her precious nieces, nephews, extended family, and treasured friends she considered family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbie’s life at Northgate Church, on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 7PM. Calling hours will be from 4PM – 7PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Barbie’s memory to Northgate Church, 51 Fourwinds Drive, Sunbury, Ohio 43074, and/or Heritage Christian School, 193 Marion-Williamsport Road East, Marion, Ohio 43302. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Wilson family.
