Beatrice May Williamson, 94, of New Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
Bea was born to the late Ray Lock Boyd and Alta May Carpenter Boyd on May 20, 1929, in Jackson Center, Ohio. Growing up she lived in Indian Lake and Byhalia. She married Donald Eugene Williamson on June 17, 1949 and they shared 49 years of marriage until Don passed away in 1998.
Bea was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt of a very blessed family. She worked in the offices of Sutton and Lightner downtown and in the new store at the mall. She was responsible for balancing the cash drawers of each department. She was a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Marion and attended Richwood Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children Sheryl (Kent) Skidmore of New Bloomington and Jeff (Wanda) Williamson of Marion. She was grandmother to 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley) Skidmore, Brandon Skidmore, Chad (Tiffany) Williamson, and Courtney (Tae) Amnathphonthip.
As a great grandmother, Bea, was blessed to have 9 great grandchildren, Karsyn, Delaney, Griffin, and Birdie Skidmore, Joseph Williamson, and Taylor, Kadynce, Jace, and Aubrie Amnathphonthip.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Marilyn (Joe) Neidig, Maxine (Bill) Wilgus, her brother Victor Boyd, young son Donald Hines, and infant children Debra and Steven Williamson.
Visiting hours at Boyd Funeral Home in Marion will be held on Friday, October 20th, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM. Services will be held at Boyd Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21st at 11:00 AM. Her nephew, Pastor Bill Williamson, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Byhalia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Ministry at Richwood Church of Christ or to LaRue United Methodist Church.
