Betty Mae (Nutt) Martin

Betty Mae Martin, Age 94 of Marion, Ohio went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2025. Betty was born May 26, 1930, to late Curtis and Odessa Nutt in Delaware, Ohio. Betty graduated in 1948 from Berlin High School in Delaware, Ohio. Betty Married John W. Martin on June 24, 1949. John sadly passed away in 2008. 

Before Betty retired, she worked at Ranco Inc, Oilers Green House and Marion Flower Shop. Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing the steel guitar with her husband. She was a member of the Oakland Church and sang in the choir. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed as our thoughts and prayers will always be with her.

Betty is survived by her son, Scott Martin, her grandchildren Stephanie (Tim) Thompson and Amanda (Jimmy) Mckinniss, her great grandchildren, Kaley Thompson, Kamry Thompson, Kenleigh McKinniss, Harper McKinniss, all of Marion, and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Gerald “Jerry” Martin who passed away in April 2020, and her 7 siblings Jay, Wick, Frank, Darlene, Evelyn, Ruby, and Polly.

The Martin family would like to invite all of Betty’s loved ones and friends to join them for calling hours at the Boyd Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm. The funeral service will be at the Boyd Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11 am. Pastor Josephine Lee will be officiating all services. Proceeding funeral burial will be at Grand Prairie cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
