Bobbie Jean Lemasters, age 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at her residence in Prospect, Ohio. Bobbie was born on September 30, 1947, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to her late parents, Edard Adkins and Vida Rose (Bentley). She met the love of her life, Rev. Joseph “Joe” W. Lemasters, and they were united in marriage on June 17, 1973, in Marion, Ohio, at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.
Bobbie devoted much of her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Community Nursing Home, Baldwin Manor, and later with Sunny Vee Nursing in Delaware, Ohio, where she faithfully served for 17 years before retiring. Her compassion extended far beyond her profession and was a reflection of her deep and abiding faith. Bobbie had a personal relationship with Jesus that guided every part of her life. She was a woman of prayer, faithfully reading her Bible and lifting others up in prayer whenever there was a need. Alongside her husband, she answered a calling to ministry, and together they pastored for 29 years in Kenton, Bucyrus, Tiffin, and Heath, Ohio. Bobbie had a special heart for women and children and was widely known for her joyful and creative children’s ministry, sharing the love of Christ in ways that brought both laughter and lasting impact. Being with her family and connecting with others was truly her greatest joy. She had a compassionate heart and was always ready to serve through quiet, selfless acts of kindness. She loved hosting family gatherings, cooking meals, and making lasting memories with those she loved most. She found deep joy in every milestone, accomplishment, and cherished moment in her grandchildren’s lives. In quieter moments, she enjoyed watching birds and butterflies, taking cruises with her husband, and spending time studying the bible.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Randy V. Adkins and Richard L. Adkins.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith to be cherished by her devoted husband, Rev. Joseph “Joe” W. Lemasters; her children, Cletis R. Adkins of Marion, Ohio, Robin R. (Steve) Tackett of Forest, Ohio and Michael S. (Cori) Lemasters of Delaware, Ohio; her brothers, Perry G. (Becky) Adkins and Dallas R. (Linda) Adkins, both of Houston, Texas, and Bruce Adkins of Memphis, Tennessee; her sisters, Freda F. Coleman (Monroe) of Elkhorn City, Kentucky, and Dedra “Jayne” Bush of Marion, Ohio; her grandchildren, Amy, Joey, Elise, Emily, and Bram; and her great-grandchildren, Trenton, Brenton, and Bryton.
Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours at Boyd Funeral Home on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Victory Center Church at 1 p.m. There will be an interment service held at the Grand Prairie Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
