Carol Ann Smith

     Carol Ann Smith, age 76, of Marysville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 9:17 AM at her home. The former Caledonia resident was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 18, 1946 to the late Charles and Mary (Ferrin) Honaker. Carol married Larry E. Smith on August 17, 1963 in Caledonia, Ohio and they spent 57 wonderful years together until his passing on July 28, 2020 in New Vienna, Ohio.

     She enjoyed cooking and was very well known for her delicious carrot cake. Carol had many enjoyable times with her family. Some of her best times were spent “Black Friday” shopping with the girls, her many vacations with Larry in Florida, and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren at Dale Hollow Lake in Tennesse.

     The lifelong homemaker is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Tim) VanVoorhis of Marysville, Oh., two sons, Jeffrey (Ronda) Smith of Hillsboro, OH. & Scott Smith, four brothers, William, James (her twin), & Glen Honaker all of Marion, OH., & Mark Honaker of Xenia, OH., seven grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) VanVoorhis-Washington, Micah (Makayla) VanVoorhis, Marina Smith, Sheree Smith, Harleigh Smith, Tony (Jessica) Lopez, and Brisa Lopez, and five great grandchildren, Skylin, Stella, Remi, Levi, and Issac.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry, and a sister, Mary Lou Scowden.

     Friends may call at the Boyd Funeral Home on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM. Her son-in-law, Tim VanVoorhis, will be conducting the service with burial to follow in the Caledonia Cemetery along with her husband. Contributions in Carol’s name may be made to Via Quest Hospice or to the charity of the donor's choice.
