Carol Sue Schmidt

     Carol Sue Schmidt, age 77, of Waldo passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 1:34 PM in the Mansfield Ohio Health Hospital. She was born in Tiffin, Ohio on December 6, 1945 to the late David Warren and Frances Irene (Reissig) Stiverson. Carol married Carl M. Schmidt in Marion, Ohio on January 16, 1989 and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2012. Surviving are a son Paul E. (Michelle) Gantt Jr. of East Liberty, OH., 3 daughters, Brenda K. Eiseman of Lorton, VA., Jan (Michael) Perry of Ashley, OH., & Jill Moore of Marion, OH., 3 brothers, Kenneth (Janet) Stiverson of Caledonia, OH., David Stiverson, & Jim (Cindy) Stiverson both of Marion, OH., nine grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

     Carol was a past President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 605 (formerly the American Legion Women's Auxiliary) in Waldo and upon her passing became an organ donor. She was employed for more than 19 years at Wendy’s restaurant before her retirement.

     Friends and family may come to honor Carol's life on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 5:00pm to 5:30pm with a “Celebration of Life Service” starting at 5:30 PM in the Waldo Am. Legion Post #605, 367 West Main St., Waldo, OH. Pastor Kathy Herr will conduct the service. The Ladies Auxiliary will be serving dinner following the service and all are invited.
