Cherie Marie Dick Stone, age 59, of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026. She was born on September 3, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, to Dairl Stone and Elaine Marie Mattix, both of whom preceded her in death.
Cherie attended River Valley High School in Marion, Ohio, where she graduated. She later married her life partner, William “Bill” Dick, in Kentucky in 2012. Their partnership was filled with deep love, devotion, and companionship that lasted until her passing.
Cherie spent more than 20 years working as a cook in local establishments and was also a proud homemaker. She retired in 2010, dedicating her time to the things she loved most—her home, her family, and the simple comforts of everyday life.
She found joy in sitting in her favorite chair watching classic television, especially her all-time favorite show, “Mama’s Family.” Those who knew Cherie knew that home was her comfort zone. She adored her grandchildren, cherished her beloved dog, “Baby”, and enjoyed snacking on chips while watching her shows. When she ventured out, she loved visiting the bison farm in Caledonia, a place that brought her peace and happiness. Cherie was especially proud of her Native American heritage, which she held close to her heart.
Preceding Cherie in death was sister, Stephanie Stone.
Cherie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Desiree Rivers; life partner, William “Bill” Dick; one brother, Steve Stone; one sister, Danielle Zentler; and her grandchildren, Willow Chapman and Arrow Flach. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pastor Bill Maniaci will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Marion Flower Shop or The Meadows of Marion.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 22, at Boyd Funeral Home, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a procession to Grand Prairie Cemetery for interment.
The Boyd Funeral Home appreciates the family’s trust during this difficult time and is honored to serve them.
