Clifford L. Roush, 84, of Marion passed away peacefully on Nov. 18 at Primrose Assisted Living in Marion. He was born on Feb. 8, 1937 in Bremen, Ohio to the late Clinton and Hallie (Syre) Roush.
Cliff was a Veteran of the United States National Guard and worked for Eaton Manufacturing, FC Bender Company, and Marion Power Shovel before opening his own business — Cliff Roush Air Conditioning Heating and Plumbing in 1968.
He operated the business for 40 years with his wife, the late Linda (Crabtree) Roush, at his side. At work and at home, Cliff was always a hard worker and set on doing things the right way, even if it meant being a stickler at times. But as particular as Cliff could be, he is remembered most for his sense of humor, teasing nature, and the grin he’d flash afterward. Even if you were his target, you couldn’t help but smile back.
If Cliff could choose how to spend the day, it would be spent outside and likely working on something. He loved fishing at his pond, hunting, playing cards, picking at his mandolin, and being with his family. He enjoyed fixing up his collection of classic cars and taking rides with Linda or his dog Dusty in the passenger seat. Cliff was a great father, grandfather, and someone to look up to, and of course, laugh with. And while he isn’t around to make any new jokes, memories of the old ones will always make us smile.
Cliff is survived by his two children David (Lynn) Roush and Robin (Michael) Mines; three grandchildren, Austin (Rachel) Roush, of Marion, Spencer (Jonathan) Remoquillo, of Lancaster, and Noah Mines, of Marion; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda Roush, and his siblings: Ed Roush, Floyd Roush, Thelma McLaughlin, Freda Hutchinsons, Francis Eyman, Mildred Rager, Velma Rush, and Violet Messenger.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Boyd Funeral Home from 5 pm to 7 pm. Services will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10 am at the funeral home with inurnment to follow at Marion Cemetery.
