Daniel Clarence Brown

Daniel Clarence “Danny” Brown, 72, of Marion Ohio went home to his Father, Sunday, July 5th , 2026. Danny was born on June 7th , 1954, in Marion to his later father, Benjamin Brown and his mother, Elsie Boganwright. Danny attended Marion Harding High School graduating in 1973. After graduating, Danny enlisted in the US Air Force where he learned to work on the B-52 bomber aircraft. After serving honorably, Danny returned to Marion where he met who would be the love of his life, Cynthia A. Morgan. They were married on March 4, 1978. They spent a lifetime together, 47 years, where they built their home in Marion with their children.

Danny was employed 38 years by Glen-Gery Brick. There he worked in production and finally settled into the maintenance department, which he really enjoyed. Danny was a self-taught man. He learned the ins and outs of electrical work and early on, would fix friends and families vehicles. He would always be around to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. His home away from home, Castaway Harbor, was very important in Danny’s life. Almost all his free time was spent at the campground, spending time with Cindy, fishing, hanging out with the dog he loved, Bolt, working around the campground and spending time with all the friends he made over the years, namely Pastor Paul Schill, Richard Stansberry and Mike Coffey, three of his best friends. Michelle Robinson, his cousin, was a lifelong best friend; they cared for each other immensely. Danny was proof that a person could change their stripes. Early on in his life, he was, a little rough around the edges, sometimes seeming to even be unapproachable and gruffy. But he grew as many came to realize and experience, into a caring, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family both at home and at the campground very much.

Danny is preceded in death by his father, wife, brother Charlie Brown, his sisters Ruth Ann Brown and Susan Shrock.

Danny’s memories are left to be cherished by his mother, sons Dennis (Betina) Brown, Jimmy Brown, Benjamin Brown, Christopher (Susan) Brown; daughters Tina (Jason) Griffith and Malinda (Cory) Davis; his brothers, Steve, Jeff, and Brian; eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with one on her way and by his best friend and fishing buddy, Pastor Paul Schill.

The Brown’s extend an invitation to Danny’s loved ones and friends to join us in honoring and
reliving some of our favorite memories, Tuesday, July 14 th , 2026, at Boyd Funeral Home 12 to 2 pm. The funeral service will be held the same day starting at 2pm with Pastor Paul Schill leading the ceremony.
