Darrill Mason Smith, Jr.

Darrill Mason Smith, Jr., age 44 of Marion, gained his wings on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Darrill was born on July 9, 1977 to the late Darrill M. Smith, Sr. and Wilma (French) Johnson in Grandbury, Texas.

Darrill enjoyed many things from listening to different genres of music from Bob & Damian Marley, Ericka Badu, KRS One, Guns-n-Roses, Motley Crew and Lecrae.  He had a gift of drawing, knowledge in technology, and a knack for putting car models together.  He always got a kick out of surprising people with jokes and simply clowning around wanting people to laugh.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Darrill was preceded in death by his father and sister, Wendy Owen.

Those who will cherish his memories include his mother: Wilma Johnson of Marion, Ohio; his life partner: Tavah Wright of Marion, Ohio; his sons: DaMonte Smith of Marion, Ohio, DeJaun Smith of Marion, Ohio and Darrill M. Smith, III of Australia; his sisters: Shannon (John) Massey of Marion, Ohio and Crystal Smith of Marion, Ohio; and his brothers: Josh (Elizabeth) Smith of Layton, Utah and Jim (Courtney) Smith of Layton, Utah.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Friday, July 23, 2021 starting at 6:30pm at the Cornerstone Alliance Church, 2010 Marion-Marysville, Road, Marion, Ohio 43302.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Smith family.
