David Franklin Staub Jr.

     David F. Staub Jr., age 80, passed away at his home on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 2:14 PM. He was born in Marion, Ohio on June 26, 1942 to the late David F. and Hilda L. (Linder) Staub. David married Hazel Jean Johnson in Marion, OH on November 3, 1963 and she survives.  

    Throughout his life, David was very mechanical minded and enjoyed flying his own airplanes, drag racing, boating and working on cars with his friends. He was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge # 70 F&AM. He attended Oak Knoll Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Kenton, Ohio Am Vets and National Rifle Association. David served in the U.S .Army and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 20 + years.  He retired in 2000 after spending 39 years in the maintenance dept. of the Whirlpool Corp.

     Surviving along with his wife, Hazel are 2 daughters, Christina (David) Norris of Delaware, OH. and Shannon Lynn Fearer of Corbin, KY., a son, Ryan Neal (Abbey) Staub of Marion, OH., a sister, Sharon Heim of Florida, 11 grandchildren, Eden Staub, Asher Staub, Nora Staub, Cohen Staub, Joshua (Alyssa) Norris, Kyle Norris, Nicole Norris, Conner Fearer, Ashley (Eric) Edwards, Chase Fearer, & Cole Fearer, 4 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sherry Johnson, Nieces, Maria (Tom) Ford and Tonda P. Iannotti, nephew, David (Cathy) Needels, and great nieces and nephews David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Needels.

     The family would like to thank all the doctor's and nurses for their assistance in David's care.  A Special Thank You to Promedica Hospice for their wonderful love and care.

     A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Pastor Christopher David will be officiating. Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to the Oak Knoll Baptist Church to share in some food and some memories with David's family. Contributions in David’s name may be made to the Marion Area Humane Society or to the Oak Knoll Baptist Church, 1007 Van Atta Ave., Marion, OH. 43302.
