Diane Lee Willis

     Diane Lee Willis, age 79 of Marion passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born in Wood County, Ohio on April 20, 1944 to Delbert and Iona (Hefflinger) Hull who preceded Diane in death.

     Diane was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. Her whole life centered around God and family. She was loved by all and loved to share Jesus with anyone who would listen. She opened her home to all and loved to entertain. Before she had children, Diane was a hairdresser and instructor at the State Beauty Academy in Marion. She was a small business owner for 48 years making wedding and party cakes for many people in town. She loved inventing new cake flavors, making candy and creating gingerbread houses with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    Besides baking and decorating, Diane’s other passion was traveling with her family and friends. Diane had traveled to all 7 continents, all 50 states, and 70 countries. Each place she visited was her very favorite place to visit. She was always ready for her next adventure in life.

     Diane’s hobbies included landscaping, crafting, party planning, entertaining, music, and ice skating. She was a National Bronze Medalist in Precision Figure Skating. She loved to play the accordion at many family functions.

     On May 2, 1964 Diane married Craig Willis in Rudolph, Ohio. Craig survives in Marion. In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by her two children, Scott (Margaret) Willis of Bothell, Washington and Laura (Don) Rengert of Waldo, Ohio, two grandchildren, Courtney (Dylan) Kelley of Marion and Wesley (Adison) Rengert of Marietta, Georgia, two great grandchildren, Carter and Hayes Kelley, and a sister, Coann (Clyde) Ducat of Bowling Green, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her half brother, Dallas Hull.

     Friends may call on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Richland Road Church of Christ, 535 Richland Rd., Marion, OH 43302. There will be a Celebration of Life at 7:00 PM following the visitation with Russell Howard officiating. The burial will take place at a later date in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Richland Road Church of Christ.
