Donald Lee Spurlock, Sr., age 77, of Bucyrus, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Donald was born in Richwood on July 5, 1948, to the late Stanford and Sadie (Trogdon) Spurlock. He later married the love of his life, Dixie Millisor, and the two shared many wonderful years together until her passing in 2001. Donald worked as a grinder for Armco Steel for more than 20 years. He began his career in Marion and later finished his working years in Baltimore after being transferred.
Donald was best known for sitting in his comfy chair, gazing out the window while watching the birds gather around his feeders. He enjoyed yard work, especially when it gave him a reason to ride his lawn mower. Donald also loved starting his mornings with coffee from Wendy’s and sharing a cup each day with his best friend, Ted. Above all else, Donald loved his family and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish Don’s memory are his daughters, Jodi (Richard) Bittner and Angela Dujardin; his sister, Jean (Kirk Carr) Butler; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dixie; his son, Donald L. Spurlock II.; his sisters, Eloise Bump and Sandi Lawhun; and his brother, Chuck Spurlock.
A graveside service for Donald will be held at Meeker Cemetery on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Boyd Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Donald Lee Spurlock, Sr. during their time of mourning.
