Eddie Ray Brown, age 82, of Marion, OH, passed away at the Marion General Hospital
on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Eddie was born to the late Paris Franklin and Myrtle
(Lovely) Brown on June 15, 1942, in Salyersville, KY. Eddie was a graduate of Marion
Harding High School with the Class of 1960. Eddie was married to Shelly (Roeber)
Brown and enjoyed many wonderful years of marriage until her passing in March of
2022. Eddie worked at various jobs but was most known for the time that he spent as
the General Manager of McDonalds and the Blue Drummer in Zanesville, OH, before
finishing his career as a car salesman at various dealerships in the Marion area.
Eddie loved to watch old westerns, even when he began to lose his eyesight, he still
found comfort in being able to listen to them. His favorite western actor was “The Duke,”
John Wayne. Eddie was also a major fan of classic monster movies, with Frankenstein
being his top monster. Eddie loved going to Flea Markets, art shows, rescuing dogs and
was known for cracking jokes.
Eddie is preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Brown.
Left to cherish the memory of Eddie are his son, Evan (Annette) Brown of Zanesville,
OH, daughter, Maureen Brown of Washington D.C., and granddaughter, Ashley Brown
of Columbus, OH.
The Family would like to give a special thank you to Ron Shoemaker, Hospice Nurse
Sara and the entire staff of Marion General Hospitals, as they were all wonderful, caring
and helpful during Eddie's life.
