Eleanor Eaches

1931 ~ 2021 (age 89)

Obituary

Eleanor Eaches, age 89 of Marion, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Community Care and Rehabilitation of Marion.

Eleanor was born on October 24, 1931, to the late Elihu and Carrie (Skeens) Counts in Kentuck, West Virginia.  Eleanor was blessed to have been married to the late Clarence Grady and the late Earnest Eaches.

Eleanor worked for 20 years on the Assembly line at Tecumseh and then retired after 11 years at the Ohio Department of Corrections-Marysville Women’s Reformatory. She was also the gardener at the Community Care and Rehabilitation for about 4 years.  Eleanor will always be known for her selfless generosity.  She has taken care of many family members in their time of need and same with her “animal” family as well.  Eleanor was exquisite at quilting.  All her quilting was hand stitched. A craft she learned from her mother. Also, she was a fabulous cook.   She will truly be missed by her family, friends, and “fur” friends.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands: Clarence Grady and Earnest Eaches; her daughters: Vicki Butcher and Sandy Kinsey; her granddaughter: Carrie Hindman; and her brothers: Edwin, Victor and Vernon Counts.

Those who will cherish her memories include her children: Beverly (Steven) Hindman of Marion, OH, Debra (Bill) Hoffman of Nevada, OH and Tami Krueger of Lewis Center, OH, Terry (Valerie) Grady of Jacksonville, FL and Mark (Lisa) Eaches of Sandusky, OH; her brother: Roger Counts of Mansfield, OH; her son in law: John Kinsey of Reynoldsburg, OH; her twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends and family may come to honor Eleanor’s life on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 11am to 1pm at the Boyd Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow starting at 1pm at the funeral home. Family has requested masks to be worn for calling hours and funeral service.  Burial will follow funeral service at the Grand Prairie Cemetery.  Donations may be given in Eleanor’s memory to either Lifeline of Ohio (donations for kidney) and/or Marion County Humane Society.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
