Ellen Rochelle Pickens, a.k.a. "Rocky"

Ellen Rochelle Pickens, aka “Rocky”, age 62, of Marion went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Marion Pointe Nursing Home. Ellen was born in Marion, Ohio to the late June Wilson and Patricia Ann (Middleton) Pickens.

She is survived by a son, Toi Pickens, a brother Darrell (Lynn) Middleton of Wisconsin., 4 sisters, LuEtta Pickens, Martis Bracy, and Christina Pickens, all of Marion, OH. and Clarissa (Ronald) Crowder of Delaware, OH., a granddaughter Takira Pickens, cherished uncle and aunt; Richard and Dianna Pickens, close friends Angela Edmonds and Mary Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Curtis Pickens, a sister, Marcella Wilson, and a son, Marlon Antione Pickens.

Ellen was employed for over 20 years at the Whirlpool Corporation. Ellen was a loving, and caring mother, daughter, friend, sister and confidant to many. She cherished many friendships and when it came to her granddaughter, she loved her dearly and enjoyed spending time with her. Ellen was a second mom to many young people in the Marion community. Ellen’s smile and quick wit will be greatly missed. 

Friends and family may come to honor her life at a graveside service on Thursday, December 21, 2023 starting at 10am at Marion Cemetery, 620 Delaware Avenue, Marion, Ohio 43302.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pickens family.
