Ethel Gamble

Ethel Gamble, 88, of Marion, OH, earned her heavenly wings on November 30, 2024, at the Vancrest Upper Sandusky. She was born on June 1, 1936, to the late Bill Hall and (Sarah Holbrook) Hall, in Hall, KY. She would go onto marry Tollie Gamble on December 20, 1990.

Ethel was employed with the city schools as a custodian for 10 years before retiring. She was also an avid church goer, attending the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church for thirty plus years. She was very active with the church, and she was a bible schoolteacher. During this time and throughout her life, she gained many “grandchildren”, influencing and raising them like her own. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband for whatever would bite at Indian Lake. Tollie and Ethel made their own getaway at the lake as well and spent precious time there.

Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Estill Hall, Cleveland Hall, Lloyd Hall, Bill (Veronica) Hall, Jr. of Dema, KY, and Evin (Thelma) Hall of Neon, KY, three sisters; Estie Williams, Ruth Belford, and Joan (Bill) Peacher.

She leaves her love and memories behind for her Husband, her sisters; Jean Seiter of Marion, OH, Mary Ann Romeo of Conway, S.C., and Mona Lisa Knight of Alexandra, VA, her special grandchild; Kaleb Lyons, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Gamble family would like to invite Ethel’s loved ones for visiting hours at the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church on December 5, 2024, from 11 a.m.-12p.m. The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. after the visitation. There will be an interment service held immediately after at the Caledonia Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gamble family in their time of need.
