Flora Kyle

Born on September 16, 1937, to Timothy E and Ada E. (Simonson) Burgoon and big sister Dorothy. 

She then welcomed her siblings Tom, Larry and Mary. Mom graduated from Manchester High School in 1955.  She told stories of working in the cannery, and on the farm with her grandparents in West Minster Maryland.  Next she met and married Cecil Matthew McKinney on August 31, 1958.  They had three daughters; Tamrya Mae July 19, 1960, Teresa Marcel November 15, 1962 and Cynthia Marie November 22, 1963.  The family visited relatives and went camping often.  Then on September 5, 1992, Flora remarried William Darryl Kyle.  Together they traveled around America.  They went to New York City, Texas, and Maryland.  They even traveled to Israel, twice.  She worked for GTE as an operator and office secretary for over 40 years. Mom achieved her goal of graduating from college with the degree of Bachelor of Arts for Business from Marion Technical College.  Flora Burgoon McKinney Kyle slipped into the arms of Jesus on the morning of October 23, 2025.

Flora is preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil M. McKinney, brother, Larry B. Burgoon, and sister, Dorothy Weathersbee.

She is survived by her husband, William Darrel Kyle, daughters; Tamrya (Henry) Ramey, Teresa (Daniel) McNamara, Cynthia Kinkaid, her step children; Kevin (Thresa) Kyle, Brian (Vickie) Kyle, and Denise (Doug) DeWalt, brother, Thomas E. Burgoon, III, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Kyle family would like to invite Flora's loved ones and friends to join them for calling hours at the Boyd Funeral Home on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service will start at 2 p.m. Pastor Barkley Slone will be officiating all services. There will be an interment service at the Chapel Heights Memory Garden at a later date.
