Floyd E. Mories, age 83, of Marion passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 10:27 AM in the Country Club of Delaware, Ohio. He was born in Marion, Ohio on June 18, 1939 to the late Charles David and Catherine Marie (Dixon) Mories. Floyd was a 1957 graduate of Marion Harding High School. Following high school, he served our country in the United States Marine Corp. for 22 years. Following his service, Floyd was employed for 17 years with the Purex Corp. as a material handler.
On May 14, 1961 he married the former Teruko Uezu and she survives in Marion. Floyd is also survived by three daughters, Rika (Mike) Allen of Wyandot, OH., Deborah (Allen) Thompson of Mt. Gilead, OH., and Catherine (Jon) Farnsworth of Delaware, OH., seven grandchildren, Candace (Boe) Graf, Tara (Kenny) Wippich, Nicole (Mike) Miller, Michael (Tiffany) Thompson, Zachary Thompson, Jacob Farnsworth, & Cooper Farnsworth and eight great grandchildren, Jordan, Corbin, Robert, Laykan, Ethan, Ella, Kinlee, & Damien. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Catherine, two brothers, William & Charles Mories, and three sisters, Ellen Foster, Frances Eaton, & Roberta Mories.
Visiting hours will be held at the Boyd Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Tom Toney in the Marion Cemetery (behind the memorial) at 1:30 PM on Wednesday. Military rites will be presented by the Marion County Veterans Council.
