Franklin “Donald” Carey, age 87 of Marion, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his residence. Donald was born March 8, 1935, to the late Lester and Hazel Madge (Ames) Carey in New Bloomington, OH. Donald was an Army Vet, a graduate of Marion Harding High School, and worked as a railroader for over 37 years- retiring from Conrail. On August 24, 1957, Donald married Patricia A. Johnson.

In Donald’s free time he enjoyed being an outdoorsman-fishing, hunting, and camping. As he got older, he enjoyed meeting up with friends for coffee in the morning.

Donald is survived by son Craig (Danielle) Carey, sisters Joyce and Jean, and grandson Jonathan Carey.

Donald is preceded in death by 7 sisters as well as his parents.
