Gary W. Mercer

     Gary W. Mercer, age 68, of Marion passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 1:20 PM in the Marion General Hospital. He was born on October 9, 1955 in Marion, Ohio, son of the late Mary Esther (Click) Mercer. Gary was a 1974 graduate of Pleasant High School and went on to graduate from the Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana. For 20+ years, he was owner & operator of Auto Werkes here in Marion and for the past 15 years, he was employed as a mechanic with Auto Assets of Powell, Ohio.

     Gary is survived by a sister, Marilyn (Mark) Beaver of Marion, OH., and two nieces, Megan (Dan) Allard of Marengo, OH. & Meredith (Cory) Allen of Marion, OH.

     Friends may call at the Boyd Funeral Home on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. Rev. Josh Freshour will conduct the funeral service with disposition at a later date. Contributions in Gary’s name may be made to the Marion County Humane Society or to the American Cancer Society.
