Gerald Gene Holsinger

Gerald Gene Holsinger, mostly known as Cheezy, was born on December 12, 1949 in Marion, Ohio. He went to to be with the Lord on August 15, in the comfort of his own home. He was the youngest of 5 boys born to Ruth Stone and Charles Holsinger. 

He is preceded in death by his older brothers, Joseph, Eric, and Harold, as well as 4 of his grandsons; Jeremy Ray, Jeremy Holsinger, Brent Whalen, and Nic Patterson. He leaves behind his sole surviving brother, Paul, as well as his children, many grand and great-grandkids, and countless family and friends. 

He spent many years during his 20’s and 30’s hitch hiking and moving across the country, but always found his way back home. He bought the family home in 2001, which he started fixing up and became proud of all over again in the last 2 years. It has been the staple of our family for years-from holidays, cookouts, and sleepovers, all the way to friends who became family because Papa’s house was everybody’s safe place. He is already deeply missed. 

His life will be celebrated at Boyd’s Funeral Home from 11 am to 1 pm, with the service at 1 pm on Friday, August 30, 2024.
