Glenn Morse Honaker, 76 of Marion, passed away September 13, 2024, at the Legacy of Marion nursing home. Glenn was born on February 5, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles and Mary (Ferrin) Honaker. On April 30, 1971, he married the love of his life Loretta Kay and together they had over 50 years of Marriage. Glenn is a graduate of River Valley High School.
Glenn is a veteran of the United States Navy who served in the Vietnam War. While in service in Vietnam he was assigned shore duty and was on a Patrol Boat that patrolled the rivers during the conflict. After being honorably discharged he became a career truck driver for over 25 years.
Glenn was an avid University of Michigan Football fan, but also enjoyed watching professional golf. In his younger years he rode his Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed deer hunting. Glenn was a member of the Marion VFW Post 3313 as well and the Marion American Legion Post 162.
Glenn was preceded in death by, sisters Mary Lou Scowden and Carol Smith and granddaughter Kayla Levings
Glenn is survived by: Wife Kay, daughter, Sonja (John) Instine, brothers, Jimmy, Mark (Pat), and Bill (Mary) Honaker, grandchildren, Rebecca Levings, Trevor Instine, Leslie (Justin) Bahan, and Michael (Sarah) Instine, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 close family friends Crystal Arp and Charlie Conners.
Friends and Family are invited to attend the visitation of Glenn on September 17, 2024 at the Boyd Funeral Home from the hours of 11-1pm with the funeral service starting at 1pm. Rev.John Instine (Son-In-Law) will be officiating. The committal service will be taking place at Caledonia Cemetery directly after the funeral.
