Gordon Lewis Wall

Gordon Lewis Wall, age 82, passed away in Columbus, Ohio, on March 15, 2025. He was born to Robert Franklin and Debora Gene (West) Wall in Columbus, Ohio, in December of 1942. Gordon graduated from Columbus North High School before deciding to enlist in the Marine Corps in July of 1961. His last assignment was in Los Alamitos, California. He served in the Vietnam War as a frontline radio repairman and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant before his honorable discharge in November of 1967. After his service overseas, Gordon went to The Ohio State University and received his Master’s degree in Political Science in 1971. He was elated to also receive an invitation from the Cincinnati Bengal’s training camp. He worked at Marion Automatic Music and retired from Fujitsu after 25 years. Gordon also coached for the 49ers for Midget Football in the 70’s. Gordon was a man of many skills and talents, but he was also one that enjoyed quality time with family and friends. Gordon was a caring and supportive person to his family. He never stopped being an avid fan of sports, finding joy in The Ohio State basketball and football teams. If he wasn’t following sports, he could be found reading or watching war themed and John Wayne movies in his spare time. 

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Debora, and in laws, John and Martha Blashinsky.

He leaves behind his wife, Marsha Wall, his son, Jason Wall, his brothers, John (Susan) Wall, Chris Wall, Frank (Tomasina) Wall, his sisters, Deborah Wall McGraw, Helen Wall Sherard, Robin Wall, his sibling in laws, Delores Verbus, Don Blashinsky, Ted Blashinsky, Del Rita Beeney, and Inda Lama, along with many nieces nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at The Boyd Funeral Home on March 21, 2025 from 11:30 am to 1 pm, a service will take place at 1 pm with Pastor Joe Harrison officiating. A graveside service will take place after at the Marion Cemetery.

The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to help the Wall family in their time of need. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marion Veteran’s Association.
