Helen Milgate Obituary
Helen L. Milgate, age 98 of Marion, passed peacefully on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at the Kingston Residence in Marion.
Helen entered into this world on November 18, 1918 to the late Scott and Mary (Burke) Wooley in Marion, Ohio. In the year 1942, she married her first husband Richard Bunford, who passed in 1967. She remarried in Perry, GA on February 19, 1967 to her second husband, William Milgate, who passed on November 12, 1992 in Marion, OH.
She was the owner and operator of Safety Cab from 1967 to 1976. Then she was a volunteer for 33 years at the Marion Area Heart Cath Center. During her years, she was a past board member of the Marion County Humane Society.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents: Scott and Mary (Burke) Wooley; her husbands: Richard Bunford and William Milgate; a sister: Wilda Strawn and a brother: Warren Wooley.
She will be missed by her daughter: Debbie (Ned) Phelps of Marion, OH; grandchildren: Kelli (John) Gill of NC and Tod (Shelly) Phelps of NC; and four great grandchildren: Connor and Mackenzie Gill and Trevor and Tyson Phelps.
Friends and Family can come to honor Helen's life on Monday July 17, 2017 starting at 10am to 11am at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow starting at 11am at the Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Goyer officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
