Homer Blevins

Homer Blevins, age 80 of Marion, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. He was born October 27, 1943 in Marion to Marshall and Lucille (McGlone) Blevins, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, 4 sisters, and 1 grandson.

Homer is survived by his wife Dorothy; his sister Ruby (Bill); his 2 sons Homer Leslie Blevins and Eric Leon Terry (Tara) Blevins; his 5 step-children Keith, Steven, David, Crystal, and Elizabeth; his grandchildren Amia, Steven, Harlee, Richie, Brandon, Austin, and Lexi; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He spent the last 20 of his working years as a carpenter. He has been retired for the last 10 years. During retirement, he enjoyed meeting friends for coffee and spending time with family. Homer was well known for his big personality. He loved to tell stories and jokes. His eyes lit up with pride when he spoke of his grandchildren. He will be missed immensely by his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
