Howard Eugene Hammons, age 61 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his residence.
Howard was born on June 6, 1962, to Harry and Loretta (Jenkins) Hammons in Madeira, Ohio.
Most of his life, Howard was a roofer, owned his own business at one time and worked in Construction as well. He loved to play his guitar and sing. He loved working on cars and riding his motorcycle. Howard loved to be around friends and family laughing and telling jokes. He was funny, playful, loving and would do anything for anyone. He had a heart as good as gold. A lot of his friends called him Hammer, but his family gave him the nickname Howard the Duck because of his playful tactics and jokes. He was loved and will truly be missed by family and friends.
Howard was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Hammons, his fiancé Chris Belcher and his sisters: Tanya Hammons, Frankie (Larry) Stith and Carole Hammons.
Those who will cherish his memories include his father, Harry (Janice) Hammons of Richwood, Ohio; his son, Mark Hammons of Marion, Ohio; his stepdaughter Shaylee Dominquez of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his sister, Jeri Tackett; his grandchildren, Braxton Hammons and Xavier Wible, Maddison Dominguez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held March 9th, 2024, 2 p.m., 1525 Bellefontaine Avenue. Marion, Ohio 43302. There will be dinner immediately after in the church kitchen.
