Ida L. Gruber

Ida Gruber, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at her home. She was born August 15, 1951 in Marion to the late Aaron and Betty Unroe.

Ida graduated from Pleasant High School in 1969, and then she worked for Marion General Hospital for over 30 years. Ida enjoyed being around people and had many friends who will miss her greatly. She battled health problems throughout her life but never let them keep her from doing what she loved.

She enjoyed her pets, gardening, decorating her home, and most of all cherished the time spent with her two grandchildren, KJ and Kurerra Vernon.

She attended Shining Light Baptist Church.

Ida is survived by her husband, John; a daughter, Holly (Brian) Schaber; two stepdaughters, Michelle (Matt) Rank and Kimberly Gruber-Wilson. Also surviving are brother Patrick (Phyliss) Unroe and sister Clova (Gary) Novik.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 10 am at the funeral home and she will be laid to rest at Marion Cemetery.
