Jack Leroy Graham, age 99 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Marion General Hospital. On July 14, 1924, he was born in Marion to the late Max Leroy and Florence Edna (Landes) Graham.
Jack served in World War II as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and a navigator on a B-24 Bomber. He worked evenings at Montgomery Ward while teaching geometry and algebra in Marion City Schools. He was also treasurer for Marion City Schools and coordinator of the county Adult Education program. Upon retirement from the school system, he served as a courier for 3 different banks.
He was a past member of Kiwanis and a lifelong member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities including Sunday School teacher. He also played on softball and bowling leagues and loved golf.
He is survived by his daughters Marsha Velazco and Jacklynn Graham; stepdaughter Mary (Dave Slater) Stayner; grandsons Scott (Amber), Tim (Emily), and Cory (Dionysia) Velazco; step-grandchildren Brad (Brandi) and Nathan (Nicole) West; and great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Waits Velazco.
He was preceded in death by his wives Rita (McPeek) Graham and Mary Jane Corbin-Stayner-Graham; his parents Max and Florence Graham; his brother Billy W. Graham; his sisters Marlene D. Beckel and Geraldine D. Graham; his grandson Adam West; and son-in-law Rafael Velazco.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place at 12 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
