Jack LaMarr Obituary

     Jack E. LaMarr Jr., age 82, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 1:57 PM at his residence. He was born in Richland County, Ohio on September 19, 1940 to the late Jack E. and Ruth (Mason) LaMarr Sr.  Jack married the former Marilyn June “Bonnie” Good on June 23, 1959 in Marion, Ohio and she preceded him in death on February 2, 2009.

     Jack was a member of Moose Lodge #889 in Marion as well as Lodge # 669 in Bucyrus, Ohio. He was a member of Am. Legion Post #605 in Waldo and a guest member of VFW Post #7201 in Marion. Jack studied Criminal Justice at Marion Technical College and was the past Waldo Marshall. He was employed for over 20 years with the Erie-Lackawanna & Conrail Railroads and went on to work for 25 years as a guard at the Marion Correctional Institute before retiring in 2007. Prior to his working career, Jack served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.

     He is survived by four daughters, Ruth LaMarr & Connie Pittman both of Marion, OH., Lori (Paul) Hartings of Waldo, OH., and Jackie (Rich) Wallace of Delaware, OH., a brother, Dana Marshall of Wichita, KS., three sisters, Karen (Bill) Allen of Whittier, CA., Teresa Barreraz of Paramount, CA., and Marilyn (Felix) Farrell of Cypress, CA., six grandchildren, Angel (David) Ziemianski, Jessica (Steve) Auciello, Marshall Pittman, Brittany Hartings, Ethan (Arica) Wallace, and Hayden Wallace, six great grandchildren, & one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his biological mother, Margaret (Mason) Christian, wife, Bonnie, a brother, Michael Burkhart, and a sister, Donna Rowe.

     A “Celebration of His Life’” will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the American Legion Post #605, 367 West Main St., Waldo, OH. Everyone is invited. Donations in Jack’s name may be made to Tranquility Hospice.
