James Edgar “Bud” Howell, age 80 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. On March 17, 1942, he was born in Harold, Kentucky, to the late Edgar and Jessie (Robbins) Howell, and on October 27, 1962, he married the love of his life, Ruth (Epling).
Bud worked as a car salesman at Marion Auto Sales for many, many years, and he spent his entire life working on cars. His most cherished vehicle, an El Camino, is jokingly referred to by his children as their stepbrother, El. He was adopted.
He had a deep love for Native American culture, as well as golf, and he possessed a wonderful sense of humor. He was the type of guy who would never let anyone help him but who would drop everything to help someone else. Everyone knew him, and no one had a bad word to say about him.
Bud was truly one of a kind. There will never be another man like him.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Howell; his daughters Jennifer Howell-Dixon and Amy (Bill) Ulery; his sister Virginia Hall; his grandchildren Ryan Lee, Caitlin (Blake) McClung, Dustin Ulery, and Nicholas Ulery; his great-grandchildren Maddix Lee, Hannah Ulery, Kyler Doyle, Jayden Ulery, Bexleigh McClung, and Reagan McClung; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Jessie and his grandson Zachary Ulery.
No services will be observed at this time.
