Janet Kempton, age 82 of Marysville, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the Heritage Senior Living facility of Marysville.
Janet was born on September 8, 1942 in Boscawen, New Hampshire. She was adopted by Ed and Alice Parker and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts.
On September 18, 1965, she married William Orval Kempton in Lewiston, New York. They were happily married for 56 years.
Janet belonged to Trinity Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio. She enjoyed fellowship and singing in the church choir. Janet enjoyed attending regular services at Trinity. Upon graduating from Defiance College, she briefly entered the social work realm in Columbus before deciding to become a full time stay at home Mom. Janet loved staying busy with her three rambunctious boys and PEO, while doing volunteer work for hospice. She loved her family, her dogs, watching the Buckeyes, and traveling any moment she could get. One of her favorite places to travel to was Old Orchard Beach in Maine. Where she spent most of her summers growing up. She loved to cook and bake for many different occasions. In the latter half of her life, she loved bragging about her amazing grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family all the way until the end. Family was everything to Janet. She will be truly missed.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Ed and Alice Parker, and her cousin Sandra Eakins.
Those who will always cherish her memories include her sister Sherry Cardinal of Ocean Park, Maine, her three sons: Michael (Melanie) Kempton of Marysville, Ohio, Todd Kempton of Westerville, Ohio and Mark (Melissa) Kempton of Leesburg, Ohio; her five granddaughters: Izabel, Mackenzie, Rylee, Caydence and Kennedy. Her nephew Len (Kathy) Davis, and cousin Patricia (Peter) Eakins.
Friends and family who wish to honor Janet’s life can attend calling hours between 11am - 1pm on Monday April 14th, to be followed by a service from 1pm - 2pm, at Boyd Funeral Home in Marion. The burial will follow afterwards at Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. https://donorservices.alz.org
