Janet Marie (Ferguson) Watts

Janet Marie Watts, age 84, of Marion went to be with the Lord peacefully at home on Tuesday June 1, 2021. Janet was born to the late William B. and Sarah (Sellards) Ferguson on May 28, 1937, in Holdon, WV.

Janet was Loved and adored by many. She worked for 22 years in the cafeteria at Whirlpool in Marion. After receiving her G.E.D. she went on to attend business school. Janet enjoyed crafts, puzzles, gardening, cake decorating and watching Big Time Wrestling.

Janet was preceded in death by her late Husband Oscar whom she married in 1956, 2 sons: David Randall (Bernice) Watts and Thurman “Buddy” Watts both of Marion. 3 Sisters; Lucinda Dingess, Martha Chafins, and Dorothy Watts of W.Va. 2 Brothers Garrett Rudolph Riggs and Jarrett Riggs of Marion, and her 4-legged companion Precious.

Janet is survived by 2 daughters: Teresa Lynn (John) Douglas and Sandra Kay Pelfrey 1 son, Larry (Yvonne) Watts. Many nieces and nephews however, her nieces Deanna Rice, Glenna Sue Issaic, Patricia Watts, Gladys Stiltner and Shelva Gaylock were especially dear to her. Janet also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call Monday June 7, 2021, from 5pm- 7pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. The funeral for Janet will be held at the Family Life Church in Marion on Tuesday June 8, 2021, at 1pm with Pastor Jason Kwast officiating. The Boyd Funeral Home is Honored to assist Janet’s family in their time of need.
