Janice (Sharrock) McKee

Janice Marie (Sharrock) McKee passed away on May 12, 2024 at Legacy Marion, surrounded and visited by loved ones as she prepared for eternal rest.

Janice was born July 4, 1952 to the late Lawrence and Agnes Sharrock. Janice was a lifelong resident of Marion County, and she graduated from Marion Harding in the class of 1970. She married the love of her life in July of 1973. They proudly celebrated 50 years of marriage, and Janice cherished that milestone.

She worked as a telephone operator for GTE for 20 years, followed by 20 years at Walmart.

She loved people and was happiest fixing large meals and feeding family and friends. She was always trying different recipes and made sure to gift her famous cheese balls to her family and friends at Christmas time. Janice was kind and a friend to many. She enjoyed her friends she met while at Legacy and held dearly many staff members. The family sends deepest thanks to Legacy for all their love to Janice.

She was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, and two brothers.

Janice is survived by daughters Adrienne (David) Bruns and Ericka (Justin) Stark and her dearest treasures, her grandchildren Dalton and Piper, all of Marion. Survived also by sister Cheryl (Skip) Hoffman of Nevada, brother Roger (Kandy) Sharrock of Marion, brothers- and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews whom she loved, and especially her dear friend Judy.

Janice will be cremated and no services will be held to respect her wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the exceptional nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice that cared attentively and lovingly for her.

Janice will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
