Jefferson Davis Severt

Jefferson Davis Severt, age 73 of Bucyrus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Marion General Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on May 28, 1950 to Paul and Parthene (Donley) Severt in Oak Hill, Ohio.

Jeff retired in 2019 after working at Tecumseh and Circle T Trucking Company for many years. Jeff will truly be missed by family and friends. 

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Junior Severt and his sisters: Betty Clifton, June Clay and infant sister, Pauline.

Those who will cherish his memories include the love of his life, Glenda Kindell of Bucyrus, Ohio; his sons:  Brian Severt of Huntsville, Ohio, Scott Severt of Bellefontaine, Ohio and Ryan Severt of Marion, Ohio; his daughter Angelique Highsmith of Marion, Ohio, his bonus daughters: Michelle (Richard) Lay and Tammy Whitaker; his brother, Kenneth (Jan) Severt and his sisters: Faye Adams and Janet Bohn; his 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and his numerous nieces and nephews.  Also, a special longtime family friend Angela Walsh.  Jeff also loved his best friend and family member, his dog Buffy. 

Family and friends may come to honor Jeff’s life from 11am to 12pm on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Boyd Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow starting at 12pm at the funeral home with Reverend Amy Parsell officiating. A burial will follow the funeral service at Caledonia Cemetery.  Donations may be given in care of the Boyd Funeral Home to assist in funeral expenses.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Severt family.
