Jeffrey Miller Obituary

Jeffrey Wayne Miller, age 55 of Marion, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Marion Pointe. On January 10, 1966, he was born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late David Lester Robinson and Linda Sue (Ransome) Parsons, and on August 5, 1995, he married his loving wife, Theresa (Chumley) Miller.

Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid OSU fan, loved his Harley and above all he would do anything to get to the poker room. He was also a skilled woodworker, and loved fishing and golfing. He was a 1984 graduate of Elgin High School and in his glory days he was an exceptional basketball and baseball player.  Growing up you could always find him with a ball in his hand.  Didn’t matter rain, snow or sunshine.  It was this love of playing that led to his success and to all the fans proclaiming that whenever he stepped onto the court, it was “Miller Time!” and also earning him the opportunity to pitch at Cooper Stadium during a baseball tournament.

He is survived by his wife Theresa Miller; his children Brandy (Chad) Belt, Jacob (Nicole) Miller, and Anita Monday; his sisters Darcy (Jamie) Blair, Char Hill, Kim (Rick) Justus, Tara (Brad) Greenwood, Chrystal  (Bob) Friend, Melinda (Steve) Jesperson, Melissa Patterson, and Robin Miller; his grandchildren Taylor, Connor, Hannah, McKenzie, Krystal, Chelseigh, Elaina, Rosalie, Sophia, Adrian, and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is his grandmother Ruth (Leonard) Webb.

He was preceded in death by his parents David and Linda, as well as his step-father Bill Miller.

Jeff lived his last few months to the fullest thanks to the wonderful care provided to him by Tranquility Hospice and Marion Pointe.  Both staffs were exceptional.  Also his life long friends that showed up in a huge way by stopping in regularly for visits that fed his spirit in a big way.  From bringing snacks, to his trips to Walmart to the late night sneaks back to the home from the Poker rooms.  Not to forget his unforgettable “Last Ride” with MAHRA (Marion Area Harley Riders Association).

A celebration of life will be held in Jeff’s memory on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at One-Eyed Jack’s Social Club and Private Poker Room, 606 Delaware Ave., Marion, Ohio.  Meet and greet the family between 5:00 and 6:00 pm.  A brief memorial will be given by his long time friend and Deacon Barry Hensley.  We’d love for you all to share your favorite, funniest, quirkiest, fondest memory you have of him at this time.  In his honor you can also join the family in donning your favorite OSU or Harley Davidson attire.
