Jennifer Rae Edington

Jennifer “Jenny” Rae Edington, age 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by her

loved ones on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born in Marion, OH to her loving

parents, George Edington and Cathy (Davis) Edington on February 24, 1976. Also

survived by her grandmother Rosie Wilkes. Jenny lost the first love of her life Michael

Smith, on August 14, 2008. She would later go on to find her partner in life, Chris Avery,

and he would take care of her until her passing. They had 8 wonderful years together.

Jenny worked at Verizon in her younger years, then she found work at Whirlpool and

stayed there for 12 plus years. Her last job was working in registrations for Morrow

County Hospital for two years. In her free time, she loved tanning and swimming. Her

favorite sports teams to watch were The Ohio State Buckeyes football and University of

Kentucky basketball.

Jenny is preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Smith.

Left to remember her life is her parents, George (Laura) Edington, and Cathy Edington,

her life partner, Chris Avery, her son, Tyler (Alexis) Hines, brother, James Edington and

stepbrother, Chad (Rachel) Davis, and her stepsisters, Kim (Jeff) Bowen, and Tanya

Caldwell.

The Edington family would like to invite all who knew Jenny to join them at the Boyd

Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, for calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. right after calling hours. There will be an

interment service immediately following the funeral service at the Marion Cemetery.

Pastor Chad Davis will be officiating all services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be

made out to the family to help them through these tough times.
