Jerald Louis Van Buskirk

Jerald Louis Van Buskirk, age 83 of Delaware, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Jerald was born on July 31, 1940 to the late Glenn Lewis and Clara Lorena (Kahley) Van Buskirk in Marion, Ohio.

He loved working with his skillful hands by rebuilding classic cars and trucks, building the first solar home in Crawford County and making different things.  He was a kind and compassionate man who will be missed by family and friends.

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tamara Van Buskirk; and his two sisters: Nellie Ross and Freda Kronenburger.

Those who will cherish his memories include his daughter, Rhonda (Roger) Kershner of Delaware, Ohio; his two sons: Ron Van Buskirk (Trisha) of Bucyrus, Ohio and Rick Van Buskirk of Chatfield, Ohio; his grandchildren: Heather Van Buskirk of Crestline, Ohio, Cheyenne Van Buskirk of Tiffin, Ohio, Michael Kershner of Delaware, Ohio, Brittney Kershner of Marion, Ohio, Wyatt Van Buskirk of Bucyrus, Ohio, Jedidiah Van Buskirk of Bucyrus, Ohio and Zachary Van Buskirk of Bucyrus, Ohio; and his great grandchildren: Claire and Leon of Crestline, Ohio.

Friends and family may come to honor Jerald’s life from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Delaware Grace Church, 375 Hills-Miller Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015.  A memorial service will follow starting at 7pm at the church.  Donations may be given in Jerald’s memory to the Delaware Grace Church.
